NDIS HOUSING & LIVING SUPPORT
Providing compassionate in-house support for individuals living with disabilities. Our home support team is dedicated to empowering your independence and celebrating your individuality, working with you to create a care plan that helps you live the life you want.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported Independent Living (SIL) under the NDIS provides funding for day-to-day support to help individuals with disabilities live as independently as possible.
This support is usually offered around the clock in a shared living arrangement or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), often alongside other NDIS participants. But what does that mean exactly? At People Power Services, SIL support can look like:
- Personal care (showering, dressing, grooming)
- Assistance with cooking and meal preparation
- Household cleaning and laundry
- Support with medication management
- Social and community participation
- Help building independent living skills
Individualised Living Option (ILO)
Under the NDIS, ILO gives people the freedom to live independently, while still receiving support when needed.
While SIL offers 24/7 care for those with higher support needs, ILO is a bit more flexible—it’s usually scheduled, based on personal preferences, and designed for individuals with lower day-to-day care needs.
At People Power Services, individuals can access the same types of day-to-day support as those with SIL—like personal care, help around the house, or community activities—but delivered in a way that fits their lifestyle and routine.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Housing Support & Advocacy
At People Power Services, we understand how important safe, accessible, and suitable housing is for your well-being and independence.
That’s why we offer advocacy and support for disability housing, working alongside our trusted network of SDA providers to help you find the right home to suit your needs. So, while we don’t directly provide SDA ourselves, we can:
- Advocate for your housing rights: We’ll stand by you and speak up on your behalf to ensure your voice is heard when it comes to your housing options under the NDIS.
- Connect you with SDA providers: Through our partnerships, we can help you access specialised housing.
- Help you with housing applications: We help you understand your NDIS plan, apply for SDA funding, and navigate the process to access appropriate accommodation.
- Provide culturally sensitive and multilingual support:
We can speak your language and help ensure your housing preferences and cultural needs are respected.
