NDIS SOCIAL & COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
We provide social and community participation support to help you stay active, not only physically, but within your community. We also accompany you to events and organise fun and culturally appropriate events and activities to foster connection, inclusion, and well-being.
What is Social and Community Participation?
Social and Community Participation is a type of NDIS support that helps individuals living with a disability get involved in social, recreational, and community-based activities.
It provides funding for a support worker to accompany you to events, activities, and programs you enjoy—whether joining a local club, attending a community event, or catching up with friends. It can also cover transport to and from these activities, making it easier to stay connected, active, and engaged in your community.
Why Is Social and Community Participation Important?
It’s not just about having fun (although that’s a big part of it!)—for individuals living with a disability, funding for social and community participation under the NDIS is incredibly important as it helps:
- Build friendships and new forms of informal support
- Keep your mind and body active
- Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
- Provide a sense of purpose and belonging
- You learn new skills and discover new interests
How People Power Services Can Help
At People Power Services, we love seeing our clients out enjoying life.
Our friendly, caring support workers can accompany you to the activities and events you’re interested in—whether that’s a local café catch-up, a community group, a sporting event, or something new you’d like to try. We’re here to make sure you feel comfortable, supported, and have a great time while doing the things you love.
We also regularly organise individual and group events and activities such as drumming, art, poetry, and traditional African song and dance events to improve social inclusion and wellbeing.

We proudly support people from all walks of life, always providing culturally appropriate services that respect individual backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions.
We also welcome non-English speaking NDIS participants and take the time to understand your language preferences and cultural needs to ensure you feel comfortable, understood, and supported every step of the way.
